John Wilson was born in Warton in 1935 where his family had a poultry farm in the village. John was the first warden of RSPB’s Leighton Moss reserve and worked there until retirement. The interview talks about his childhood, how his passion for birds and nature began and how he came to have the job of first warden on the reserve and all of the challenges that entailed. He also discusses the habitats and species of Morecambe Bay and farming.
