Thomas Parkinson Lighthouse Keeper holding a catch of salmon. The Lighthouse Keepers of the Plover Scar and Cockersands lighthouses for the first 100 years were the Raby family. In 1945, The second and final family to take up the role was the Parkinson family with Thomas and Beatrice Parkinson and their son Bob. In 1963, Thomas retired as lighthouse keeper to both lights, Cockersham and Plover Scar. Bob Parkinson’s oral history is in the archive.
