Oral history interview with Sarah Fishwick about life in and around Silverdale and the Yealands
Sarah Fishwick was born in the early 1950s and has lived in Silverdale for 27 years at time of recording. From the age of 11 she lived on a farm in Yealand Redmayne. Sarah has been a councillor at parish, city and county level. Topics covered include – changes to the local landscape, the cockling disaster, issues she was involved with as a councillor and changes to the Silverdale shore line.
This interview was collected as part of Morecambe Bay Partnership’s Morecambe Bay Lives oral history project 2015-2019, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the Headlands to Headspace Landscape Partnership Scheme
